Voter Information Letters (VIL)

All eligible electors on the voters’ list as of September 7, 2022, will receive a personally addressed and enveloped Voter Information Letter in the mailbox during the week of September 26th. This letter contains the personal identification number (PIN) necessary to access the internet voting system. The URL for internet voting is also printed on the VIL with instructions for the voter. To login and cast a ballot online, voters will require both the PIN printed on their VIL and their date of birth. If they do not receive a VIL, voters can attend the Office of the City Clerk at Vaughan City Hall during normal business hours, or a Voter Assistance Centre to have one printed (or be added to the voters’ list), see below.

Advance Voting – Voter Assistance Centres

During the Advance Vote, the City of Vaughan will staff five (5) Voter Assistance Centres which will provide internet voting kiosks for voters who do not have access to a device or internet in order to participate in the Advance Vote. If an eligible voter is not on the voters’ list, does not receive a Voter Information Letter (VIL), has the incorrect school support, or whose date of birth is missing on the voters’ list, they may attend a VAC to be added to the list, correct their information or receive a VIL.

In addition to the staffed Voter Assistance Centres, internet voting kiosks will be set-up at all Vaughan Public Library (VPL) locations to allow voters without access to a computer or internet to participate in the Advance Vote. These locations are not staffed with election officials, so no voters’ list additions or revisions may be processed at these sites. VPL staff will be able to provide support to voters in navigating the internet voting system if they require assistance while voting.
